EXPERIENCE BUDAFEST 2018

Our trip to Budapest was a great one, but it had a motive and this was it.

Budafest 2018.

3 days of festival living minus the grossness of camping in one of the many beautiful cities in europe, Budapest! The festival takes places across Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in the week and is based across 3 clubs, Akvarium and Otkert and the Szechenyi Thermal Spa.

The line up was unreal with a fair few of my favourite DJ’s so we were all systems go!

These were just a few of the 2018 names!

BUDAFEST 2018 – Day 1, CamelPhat & More

On Day 1 we headed down to Akvarium to collect our wristbands, a quick pint and our nifty little map which showed us where all the venues were and also hand the line up on it and the set times! it was already pretty set in stone early on where we were going to spend the first night.

SO we headed BACK to Akvarium that night for Camelphat who we saw play Cola! We also saw Gotsome play as well, their sets were phenomenal and the light shows were pretty sick with it too. The frustrating thing we learnt was that getting served at the bar was SO HARD. Its almost like they don’t want to serve anyone in a moderate fashion. It took us an HOUR to get our first drinks. AN HOUR. So I ordered 8 so we didn’t haven’t to rush back for more and had 2 drinks each because I was NOT facing that again.

BUDAFEST 2018 – Day 2, Solardo & More

The following morning was a painful but still not to hungover type of morning. We decided that night we were going to bop along to Otkert the other ruin bar club to see some more DJ’s! This place we a little smaller than Akvarium but it was still awesome.

In Otkert we saw Sonny Fodera and Im glad it was others because it was a better venue than Akvarium. BUT STILL, we ended up at Akvarium not long after Sonny Fodera’s set started as Solardo were up next over there. After Solardo’s set we stuck around for the Techbox boys who one of our friends knew! So it was pretty awesome just chilling out outside with them pre their set. Which was also sick.

Id say we ended the night at 6am.

BUDAFEST – DAY 3, The Szechenyi Thermal Spa Party W/ Artwork & More

The party was the coolest party. With glittery wristbands and a virtual card around your neck so you didn’t have to take in any money, your girl was swimming pool ready with the full white swimming costume and cute shorts. Not that the shorts mattered anyway as I couldnt wear them in the spa.

Imagine being able to chill out and get boozy with the boys in a THERMAL POOL while Artwork plays his DJ set in front of you? Its awesome. I really enjoyed the spa party, time went so fast and so did the drinks. It was awesome fun but I didn’t take any pictures at all. I didn’t want to risk dropping it in a place like that and losing everything!

The best part was that it made me super tired when we left as it was like being in a hot tub swimming pool for about 3-4 hours straight so I slept like a baby right through into the following day. The grotty part was by the end of the night the pool was full of plastic cups and tinnies in the water, felt sorry for the clean up team.

Overall it was an experience I will never forget.

It was a great 3 days but it is safe to say I won’t do another metro festival like this one again. But I definitely recommend it to those who have never done one before. It was also a brilliant way to explore the city in the day and party in the night!

Unless my friends can sway me to go to Spring Break Amsterdam, then we may have to talk about doing another.

Festival tourism is always an interesting one and in this instance, it works really really well. It brings a lot of money into Budapest and everyone has a good time, its better to use what the locals have to offer us then to go with a traditional all inclusive. It helps the local communities to grow and I am all for support it brings!

Until next time, J x

Budapest’s Beautiful & Creative Street Art

All throughout the streets of Budapest are some of the most beautiful pieces of art I really have ever seen painted on the side of buildings!

The aim of the Budapest street art was too ensure that the rejuvenation of their streets was successful in making the area more welcoming and also spruce it up a bit, making it more lively.

I wish I had taken a day to do the map but they offer a map of Budapest and all of its street art and where in Budapest you can find them! IF YOU GET THE CHANCE, DO IT because some of the pieces are really really beautiful and impressive!

So I’m not going to talk much more in this post, My favourite piece of street art I will post at the top, after that I will leave you to scroll through the photos of the art and appreciate it!

LET ME KNOW WHICH ONE IS YOUR FAVOURITE!

This Piece is my favourite, I will very much be getting her tattooed onto my leg, sorry family!

So here are the questions that IndefinitelyJ asked me! I’ve been looking forward to answering these!

  • What’s the one piece of advice you’d give to your younger self?

Don’t panic. There is no need to panic, if you can sort it out in the next 10 days? why worry. If it can be sorted in the next month? why worry. It’ll only make your anxiety worse.

  • Who inspires you the most in life?

My mum. She is an amazing woman. I actually can’t express just how much I love her and how much she inspires me.

  • What is your favourite podcast currently?

I don’t listen to podcasts! Although my boyfriend does and he talked quite highly of them. So I might have to give them a go soon!

  • What is the most important thing in your life?

At the moment? University. I am SO determined to be able to pass this final year and graduate with a good grade.

  • What language would you most like to learn instantly?

SPANISH, DEFINITELY. I live for the language, its just beautiful and sexy all at the same time. I tried to teach myself at one point but I got far too distracted with life. I am considering having proper lessons!

  • What are you watching on Netflix currently (if you don’t have Netflix what are you watching in general?)?

The new series of Orange Is The New Black is definitely on the cards as well as Suits once I get back to uni! I am also really big into my crime dramas and documentaries. I’ve been watching Drug Lords and Lock Up, they’re really good.

  • How do you remain positive?

I usually have to tell myself that everything will be fine at least once a day. I also read a lot of quotes that are motivational or make you realise its not all bad. I also write and see family and friends to stay positive.

  • If you could be anything what would you be?

An Author or a real and official Travel Blogger. Thats the dream.

  • You’re hosting a dinner party! You can invite 5 people, dead or alive, who are you inviting and what would you cook for them?
  1. Ariana Grande 2. Dua Lipa 3. The Queen 4. Gordon Ramsey 5. Conor Maynard.

Hopefully the benefit of inviting Ramsey would be that I don’t have to cook, but If I DID. It would be my signature Spaghetti Bolognese because its the only dish I am really good at.

  • What is your favourite book?

The Noughts and Crosses books by Malore Blackman. There are 4 books in the series and they are all phenomenal, I have read them twice! I couldnt put them down. A Close second is the Maze Runner Series too.

  • Where is your happy place, what is it, is it even real or is it a state in your mind?

My happy place is very real. Its the sea. Nothing matters once I am in that water, no matter where we are in the world, rain or shine. I am the happiest girl alive and there is no question about it.

So after answering all of those wonderful questions, the dinner party one being the hardest one to answer, I will now nominate 11 bloggers of my own for the Sunshine Blogger Award!

My London Bucket List – Part 12, A Scientific & Pretty Pink Kinda Day

An Odd Mixture right?

Me and Brad had another day out in London! And of course as per usual, it was damn great. This day was a really fun one, we didn’t do too much but we also didn’t do too little!

SO we set off from Watford and headed for Central London, South Kensington to be exact where we could go to the Science Museum!! I had never been to the science museum before and Brad loves all of that kind of stuff which makes it so much more enjoyable.

I love going to London with Brad and knowing that he is enjoying what we are doing as much as I am, that really makes a difference to the trip. Why I always make sure that we do something we can both do, no point in dragging Brad around for no reason. We are good at finding a balance too which makes a difference. Today was definitely a compromise because I wanted to go to Peggy Porchen.

BUT ILL START THAT LATER.

We arrived at the Science Museum and wandered on in. Free entry of course. I LOVE How museums do free entry, so amazing. COME IN FOR FREE EDUCATION, how it should be for things like that!

The Space area on the 1st floor of the museum and the Flight area on the 3rd floor are my favourite areas. Not only is space absolutely fascinating but I also love flying!

My favourite area about the Space section was learning about the astronauts and how they ate, drank, slept and ‘other things’ whilst up in space! I can confirm the space food does look absolutely vile.

35361780_10211335330410853_2245973205216919552_nIt was amazing to learn all these things about space, there was also an area about steam power, the information age which includes how phones and and wifi have adapted and grown, and a section about maths!

The section about Maths was something that I wouldn’t expect. Maths actually goes into so many different creations and different things. I was astounded to find that without maths we would have no architecture. I know thats a pretty well known fact (apparently), but I wasn’t aware, so it was a really fascinating day.

They also have an interactive section where you can play games using your body and remembering the things you’ve learnt from each section. The Science museum really is such an amazing place, and a really amazing day out for any age!

We then headed up to find section of the museum and it was Flight! I love seeing all the old fashioned planes and the difference in planes then and now and its phenomenal to see how much technology has changed! They even had a HUGE cut out piece of a British 35300583_10211335329490830_7419031047167279104_nAirways Boeing 747 Just casually sat at the end of the display!

You could see the luggage, the first floor of seating and then the second floor of seating. You could see all the exposed electronics and whats in where the luggage is stored. It was just fascinating and Brad enjoyed himself too!!

After a good 2 and a half hours, nearly 3 hours wandering around the museum we stayed until it was closing time. Once outside it was a beautiful day and I wanted to go to a particular cafe!

Now for Brad, This was a nightmare.

Peggy Porchen Cakes.

An all pink, all floral, all very photographic and Instagram/Blog worthy. The only condition was that he got to eat and that was definitely good enough for me!

So we headed to Victoria from South Kensington on the tube and it was about a 5 minute walk from Victoria station.

You could see Peggy Porchens from down the road and there were HOARDS of people outside standing and getting pictures and then leaving!! Why would you leave once you had a picture?! LETS GET SOME CAKE AYE.

So Bradders and I sat outside under the flowers and had Tea and Cake! We had a cuppa tea for two and Brad had a Cookie Crumble Cupcake and I had a Biscuit Cake, which was a rocky road cake. Brad loved it really being sat amongst all the pink and flowers.

Of course once we finished our tea and cake I definitely made sure I got my Candid picture outside of the shop to end the day!

It was a great trip, we got back to watford at about 8pm, and ended it with a Beer and a Burger by the station. I love our days out!

More to come soon!

Next up: Hyde Park Nights, 5K runs & 28 flights of stairs for charity!
