An Odd Mixture right?
Me and Brad had another day out in London! And of course as per usual, it was damn great. This day was a really fun one, we didn’t do too much but we also didn’t do too little!
SO we set off from Watford and headed for Central London, South Kensington to be exact where we could go to the Science Museum!! I had never been to the science museum before and Brad loves all of that kind of stuff which makes it so much more enjoyable.
I love going to London with Brad and knowing that he is enjoying what we are doing as much as I am, that really makes a difference to the trip. Why I always make sure that we do something we can both do, no point in dragging Brad around for no reason. We are good at finding a balance too which makes a difference. Today was definitely a compromise because I wanted to go to Peggy Porchen.
BUT ILL START THAT LATER.
We arrived at the Science Museum and wandered on in. Free entry of course. I LOVE How museums do free entry, so amazing. COME IN FOR FREE EDUCATION, how it should be for things like that!
The Space area on the 1st floor of the museum and the Flight area on the 3rd floor are my favourite areas. Not only is space absolutely fascinating but I also love flying!
My favourite area about the Space section was learning about the astronauts and how they ate, drank, slept and ‘other things’ whilst up in space! I can confirm the space food does look absolutely vile.
It was amazing to learn all these things about space, there was also an area about steam power, the information age which includes how phones and and wifi have adapted and grown, and a section about maths!
The section about Maths was something that I wouldn’t expect. Maths actually goes into so many different creations and different things. I was astounded to find that without maths we would have no architecture. I know thats a pretty well known fact (apparently), but I wasn’t aware, so it was a really fascinating day.
They also have an interactive section where you can play games using your body and remembering the things you’ve learnt from each section. The Science museum really is such an amazing place, and a really amazing day out for any age!
We then headed up to find section of the museum and it was Flight! I love seeing all the old fashioned planes and the difference in planes then and now and its phenomenal to see how much technology has changed! They even had a HUGE cut out piece of a British Airways Boeing 747 Just casually sat at the end of the display!
You could see the luggage, the first floor of seating and then the second floor of seating. You could see all the exposed electronics and whats in where the luggage is stored. It was just fascinating and Brad enjoyed himself too!!
After a good 2 and a half hours, nearly 3 hours wandering around the museum we stayed until it was closing time. Once outside it was a beautiful day and I wanted to go to a particular cafe!
Now for Brad, This was a nightmare.
Peggy Porchen Cakes.
An all pink, all floral, all very photographic and Instagram/Blog worthy. The only condition was that he got to eat and that was definitely good enough for me!
So we headed to Victoria from South Kensington on the tube and it was about a 5 minute walk from Victoria station.
You could see Peggy Porchens from down the road and there were HOARDS of people outside standing and getting pictures and then leaving!! Why would you leave once you had a picture?! LETS GET SOME CAKE AYE.
So Bradders and I sat outside under the flowers and had Tea and Cake! We had a cuppa tea for two and Brad had a Cookie Crumble Cupcake and I had a Biscuit Cake, which was a rocky road cake. Brad loved it really being sat amongst all the pink and flowers.
Of course once we finished our tea and cake I definitely made sure I got my Candid picture outside of the shop to end the day!
It was a great trip, we got back to watford at about 8pm, and ended it with a Beer and a Burger by the station. I love our days out!
More to come soon!
Next up: Hyde Park Nights, 5K runs & 28 flights of stairs for charity!
